The DOD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service Members to gain valuable civilian

work experience through specific industry training. It’s an opportunity to gain an abundance of

knowledge in the civilian sector within 180 days of their end of service.

Service members can receive this information from their local resource center and can get in

touch by requesting more information. The DOD SkillBridge program is beneficial to service

members and helps guide them into a smoother transition out of their current military occupation

and into a new course of employment.

Besides generating a path to a smoother transition, future veterans can gain more than

experience from these environments. Some companies do offer scholarships or certifications

upon completion of these programs. Better yet, these companies truly do want the best for

these individuals and can either help them be connected with future employment or offer them a

position at their company.
